Pain Management
Microelectrotherapy is a low level current form of electromedicine. It is a non-drug, non-invasive, well tolerated treatment utilized to treat acute and chronic pain conditions. This form of treatment works differently in the body than a TENS treatment. It provides carryover pain relief and aids in the reduction of inflammation and healing of tissue damage. It provides pain relief through the stimulation of beta-endorphin activity (the body's natural pain relief substance) and the normalization of intercelluar electrical activity. It is also utilized as a treatment for scar tissue, high blood pressure, macular degeneration, tinnitus, Raynaud's disease, and insomnia. A particular application called CES, which increases the production of serotonin activity, can be very beneficial in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, explosive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and alcohol and substance abuse problems.
